Edward David Anderson is an Americana songwriter and performer who spent his formative years fronting the revered Midwest rock band, Backyard Tire Fire. Known for infectious melodies and memorable messages Anderson penned 8 albums for the band and played countless shows across the US and Canada. Serendipity eventually took him South to the Gulf of Mexico where he found the 'Lower Alabama' culture and beaches provided reprieve from life on the road and a place of healing after enduring the loss of loved ones. He has since called both Bloomington, IL and Orange Beach, AL home as he and his family migrate South each winter and back North each spring. Anderson is one of music's modern makers, a rock and roll veteran whom these days, more often picks up his banjo than electric guitar. One who creates his own path and continues to flourish, producing soulful music that evokes an emotional and spiritual connection with listeners. On the heals of his acclaimed debut solo release Lies & Wishes (2014 produced by Steve Berlin, Los Lobos) Anderson's sophomore effort Lower Alabama: The Loxley Sessions (2015, produced by Anthony Crawford, Willie Sugarcapps, Neil Young) is a stunning follow up. The nine-song collection floats melodiously on rivers of fiddle and clouds of pedal steel, on gentle acoustic guitars and hints of piano, dusted with some ghostly guitar from Will Kimbrough and striking vocal harmony by Crawford's wife, singer Savana Lee. And the result is a timeless, unvarnished beauty of an album.
