Mirror (Salamin)

by William (age 15) | Partner Organization: Visayans

The person looks at me without blinking. My twin from the mirror. Studies the imperfections and blemishes on my face. Looking at my coffee coloured eyes. The person would hold my gaze longer until it feels the heartbeat on my chest. That's thumping ferociously and sometimes in deep slumber. Within me, lies my beloved mother, father and brothers. As well as the warmth of my blood. And the breath of God,  always listening and guarding. The person would continuously stare at me. Judging from head to toe. Then present me with a natural beauty that lies within me.

This was a great story and I was honored to be able to write a song for it.
