Mr. Novello's Music Class

This song was collectively composed by the third and fourth graders at Crow Island school during their final two weeks of remote learning music class in the 2020-21 school year. The students gathered detailed information about Kaleb's camp experience by researching the camp and interviewing Johanna Folwer, the National Program Specialist for Recreation & Camp Program at the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Jo was the director of the MDA camp that Kaleb attended, so told us all about what camp is like and even connected us with Kaleb's family for the details on his very favorite parts of camp. We learned that Kaleb loves star wars and 80's rock; we hope you can hear these inspirations in our melodies. When the students at Crow Island shifted to in-person learning, we began rehearsal and made our recordings for this song. Each class went outside (and were masked) to sing in compliance with local guidance, so please pardon our slightly muffled sound quality. Mr. Novello roughly edited together the recordings of the different classes so each child's voice is included somewhere in the final result. We hope our song celebrates Kaleb's time at camp and helps to raise awareness and resources for what seems to be a really special and wonderful camp.
